Sarita Ford, a graduate of University of Maryland School of Social Work, has experience working with psychiatric rehabilitation programs, mental health clinics, facilitating wellness workshops, and working in Title I and Community Schools. As a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor, she offers clinical supervision to school social workers and independent clinicians. With the assistance of a contracted employee, she provides trauma-informed care, using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychoeducational groups, and crisis intervention services to clients.
Sarita has certifications in Signs of Suicide (SOS) and Youth Mental Health First Aid. In addition to her work as a school social worker and owner/private practitioner of Intentional Healing Therapeutic Services, she is a co-author of It Takes a Village: Stories Of Inspiration From Black Women In Social Work. Sarita’s vision is to offer comprehensive services, including individual/family therapy, crisis intervention, and psycho-educational groups. When she's not writing or working, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, listening to music, volunteering, and attending local farmers' markets, and concerts.
